Prayer Letters
June 23, 2003 Prayer Letter

Dear Faithful Ones:

Thank you for your prayers! They’re working! In my last letter I asked you to pray for my fund development in these last two months of this fiscal year. Each week I have been meeting with potential new donors, sharing with them about Graduate & Faculty Ministries and asking them to consider becoming a partner-in-ministry.

These have been great meetings! Many have said yes, and many have been able to give both a year-end gift as well as making a commitment to become an on-going partner in prayer and/or giving.

There have also been some surprises along the way (some gifts of encouragement) from the Lord. I have walked away feeling blessed again and again to be able to share this growing ministry with more and more people.

I deeply appreciate your prayers and support thus far, and I am especially in need your prayers to finish well these last few days of this academic and fiscal year. There are several specific areas for which your continued prayers would be most helpful:

June 20 – 22, I am traveling west to help with a weekend Chapter
Camp for the GFM Chapters in S. California. Pray for the chapter leaders that will be coming from U C Irvine, UC San Diego, UCLA, and Claremont Graduate University, that God will be leading them in a vision for planning for their respective campuses.

Fund Development Appointments that are yet to take place. I still have several appointments set up in the next week and a half and some into early July to continue to work at raising my full support for this year, and get started on next year’s support. Pray that I can move from being 80% funded to being fully funded soon.

July 2-5, I will be in Madison, WI helping with InterVarsity Staff Education in the area of Spiritual Formation through a short class entitled: The Ministry of Spiritual Formation: Helping Staff Know and Love Christ. Pray that the course will help us to focus on what we are learning about spiritual formation and how we might grow in competency and depth as workers together with God who purposes to conform us to the image of his Son.

Thank You for praying!

About mid-July I will be sending you another update on how the above requests were answered. I am also in the process of moving into the 21st Century, so hope to have a web site available by then, which will include pictures, some book reviews, and other updates of GFM Ministry.
